Who we are

"Vrij tijd" translates to "free time" in Dutch.* We chose this phrase as our company name because it embodies what we want our business to represent. We left our full-time jobs so that we could have more free time, and we focus on building software for you so that you can have more free time. It’s a win-win.

* We know, we know. It's technically supposed to be "vrije tijd," but the .com domain wasn't available. Besides, our way looks and sounds cooler.

  • Malina Tran

    Co-Founder / Wife

    Malina is a software engineer with tons of experience in the consulting world. Before starting Vrij Tijd, she worked at 8th Light, Sweetgreen, and Nava PBC.

    More likely than not, Malina is going to be the one to make sure your project is a joy to use. With an eye for design and sharp project management skills, she will ensure a productive working relationship for all.

  • Gerard O'Neill

    Co-Founder / Husband

    Gerard is a software engineer who has been tinkering with the web since he was ten years old. Before starting Vrij Tijd, he worked at Etsy, Trello, and Atlassian.

    His work is done efficiently and with extreme attention to detail when it comes to code quality. If anyone else ever works on your project, they will be happy that Gerard wrote the code they have to work with.
